Snacks
Weeknight Dinners
M (family meal): Trader Joe's orange chicken
T (family meal): Noodles and hotdogs for the kids, leftover grilled chicken and seasoned rice from last Sunday for him, Chicken sausage, sweet potato, and veg for me. That's a pat of light butter on the sweet potato.
W (Valentine's Day): Lamb for my love with mashed potatoes and mixed veg. I bought the lamb the night before and let it marinate in olive oil, garlic, and thyme for the day. My sweetheart did the grilling while I made mashed potatoes and prepped dessert.
For dessert, it was lava cake via Dessert for Two! Although I ended up squeezing three portions out of the recipe. The small hit of espresso powder really set off the chocolate and made my toes curl.
H (fend for yourself night): Chicken sausage, sweet potato, and veg. We split the last lava cake for dessert. It lost its lava on reheating, but it was still good.
F (date night): out to a Middle Eastern restaurant nearby. Lamb plate with seasoned rice, pine nuts, and garlic sauce. Home to his n'hers dessert of milk chocolate and white chocolate Reese's Eggs.
Weekend Dinners
S: Dinner at a friend's house with the Quartet (my three best friends from grad school). Pizza, snacks, and chocolate chip cookies.
Su: Mini meatloaves with corn and mashed potatoes.
Meal Prep
Garlic Shrimp Pasta via Well Plated. As promised, really quick and easy to make, and the few tastes that I took indicate yum. Looking forward to lunch this week.
Other
Workouts: standard fare of treadmill runs, walks, and weight lifting
Watching (from the treadmill): A Place to Call Home, just started season 2.
Watching (from the couch): Ash vs Evil Dead with hubs, finished up The Sinner over the weekend. It was OK. It was an OK show, though a little too Lifetime Movieish for my taste.
Reading: Nemesis by Brendan Reichs. I'm a huge Kathy Reichs fan, but her next book isn't coming out until August. Stepson #1 read and loved the Virals series, and I was thinking of picking that up but for some reason Nemesis caught my attention instead. I really like it.
Your turn
- What are you cooking this week?
- What are you watching and reading?
- How did you spend Valentine's Day?
- What do you serve with meatloaf? Asking because stepson #1 hates mashed potatoes and I'm trying to think up something different to have as a side.

Hi Anonymous, I don't get a lot of spam, but that's also why I moderate comments because I'd feel bad if someone posted something malicious and I wasn't able to deal with it. Of course Blogger decided to send your comment about spam to my spam folder...
