This was a planned cutback week and I achieved my goal of zero strength training and a few short runs for 16.7 miles total. I cannot tell a lie: I thoroughly enjoyed my easy week AND I am very eager to get back ramp things up next week. In other news, I tried the Brooks Levitate 4.

Weekly Eats: Wax and Wane
A weekly round up: eats, watches, and reads. Last Sunday I got my act together and did a bunch of meal prep that I benefited from this week. This Sunday...oops my meal planning mojo has gone AWOL so I have no clue what to eat. Likewise this week's TV situation is a wax and books are a wane.

Weekly Eats: Pie Edition
A weekly round up: eats, watches, and reads. This is one of those rare weeks when the name of my blog is appropriate - I made pie! It's a chicken pot pie and everything in the universe lined up and it was one of the best crusts that I've ever made. The family's conclusion is that now we need to make an apple pie, so as soon as we get a free moment, we will make that happen.

Weekly Sweats: The Slow Down

Weekly Sweats: Ladder
Of all the things that I expected to tell you this week, the fact that I ran 31.25 miles was not one of them! Wait, let me say that again, the fact that I did 3 strength workouts, assorted yoga, and ran 31.25 outside miles was delightfully unexpected.

Weekly Sweats: Sandbagging
Going into the last week of the year, I was already at record annual mileage, so I made the most of it and "sandbagged" with lower volume runs and an extra rest day. 22 miles this week and hey-o I'm still hitting the weights.

2021 State of the Run
It's that time again! Let's review where my running shoes took me this year and where they will go from here.
