Weekly Eats: Yada Yada, Yada

A weekly roundup: eats, watches, and reads.  In this week's edition we found stuff to eat, though nothing too exciting, and I'm set in the TV and book departments.

Weekly Sweats: Compromise

The theme of this week was doing what I could with what I had.  Last week the weather was in my favor and the world was my oyster.  This week, well, let's just say that Mother Nature got August temps back to average and then some.  I called up my friend the treadmill and gave up my long run and got in 26 wonderful miles in return.

7 Things About a Sheprador

Today is National Dog Day so I'd like to take a moment to pay tribute to my stepdog.  Neither my husband nor I ever planned to be dog owners, but a few years after the divorce my stepsons' mom got a dog "for the kids" and after a while it became clear that both the kids and the dog were happiest when they were under the same roof so...that was our path to dog ownership.  And hey, all of the adults involved are very happy with this arrangement as well.

I had always accepted the story that my stepsons were told, which was that once upon a time a German Shepherd met a Black Lab and they Loved Each Other Very Much, but recently we learned that there is an official name for this kind of dog: a Sheprador.  Intrigued, I did a little research, by which I mean that I read the first hit that google brought up: 7 Things You Need to Know Before Buying a German Shepherd & Lab Mix (A.K.A. Sheprador).  The first thing on the list made me giggle, so I felt that I needed to write a response to the 7 things.

Weekly Eats: Put an Egg on It

A weekly round up: eats, watches, and reads.  This week I realized that I have been missing out on one of the biggest work from home perks: eggs for lunch!  I'm not always the biggest fan of meat, but I'm always down for an egg.  Apart from not having a great way to cook them back in the old days when I went to an office, I also avoided them for lunch because until recently I used to have them for breakfast nearly every morning.  I think 2 eggs a day is on everyone's OK list but 3-4 a day is questionable and as much as I love eggs, even I don't want them that much.  But now that I'm no longer eating them for breakfast, lunch is wide open for eggs.

Weekly Sweats: Living the Dream

I lived my best runner's life this week with temperatures in the (very) low 50's.  I've heard it said that training in heat and humidity is "poor man's altitude training" and I feel very much like I went from 10,000 feet to sea level.  30.5 miles of running and the bare minimum in the weight lifting department.

Weekly Eats: A Week With a Plan

A weekly round up: eats, watches, and reads.  This week was notable in that I actually did meal prep and had a plan for the week instead of getting caught like a deer in the headlights every night at dinner time.

Weekly Sweats: A Seinfeld Week

Fitness wise, this was a "Seinfeld" week: a week about nothing.  29.25 miles and more baby steps toward weight workouts went by, so if you're down for some running chit chat, lace up and we'll go out for a quick run around the block.

Weekly Eats: Busy Busy Busy

A weekly roundup: eats, watches, and reads.  This week was my busy week at work, so I spent a lot of time in our upstairs office doing #thuglife accounting things while my family somehow survived.

Weekly Sweats: Fast Times

In this week's recap, 28.75 miles of running and some baby steps toward strength training went down.  4 out of 5 runs this week had 10:xx splits in them, which is always very exciting.

Weekly Eats: Breakfast Sammie Edition

A weekly round up: eats, watches, and reads.  In this week's edition I'm crushing on egg sandwiches, chickpea salads, and harvesting some garden goods.

Weekly Sweats: Quantity

The TL&DR version of this week's post: I wanted to run a lot so I did.  33 miles went down.
