Weekly Eats - Monday Nov 13 - Sunday Nov 19

A weekly round up: eats, workouts, watches, and reads


Weekday Breakfasts:
Trader Joe's cereal bar with string cheese
Weekend Breakfasts:
Scrambled eggs & toast
Homemade egg McMuffin with sausage
Weekday Lunches:
One last Budget Bytes Vegetable Fajita from last week
Alternated Vegetable Enchiladas and  Spinach Artichoke Pasta from last Sunday's meal prep, plenty more stashed in the freezer
Weekend Lunches:
Chicken sausage with seasoned rice (a leftover serving squirreled away in the freezer) and peas
Leftover pizza
Weekday Dinners:
Monday (family meal): Hamburgers and french fries
Tuesday (an unplanned fend for yourself night): Spinach artichoke pasta from the freezer.  The original plan was to eat leftover meatloaf from last Sunday as a family.
Wednesday (date night): leftover Mini meatloaves, mashed potatoes & veg from Sunday (yes, we eat leftovers on date night if it's meatloaf.  The remaining meal's worth of meatloaf went to the freezer).
Thursday: Veggie Enchilada from the freezer for me, soup for him
Friday: kickoff to the holiday party season with my work family party.  All the foods.
Weekend Dinners:
Saturday (family game night with an old friend that we haven't seen in forever): takeout pizza and chocolate chip cookies
Sunday (family meal): family lasagna and salads
Food Prep: None, other than cooking up a big ol' lasagna tonight.  Save it for holiday time off.
Other: 
Things on the internet that I tried IRL: reheating pizza on the stovetop instead of the microwave via fANNEtastic Food. Now mind you I've never been one to turn my nose at nuked leftover pizza but Anne piqued my interest so I tried it and it was phenomenal.  Used a cast iron skillet and 1 tsp of water.  My skillet isn't big enough for two slices, so I ate the first slice while the 2nd slice cooked.  My only add is that once the pan got hot, I needed to turn down the heat to low to prevent the crust from getting too crisp. 
 
Workouts: running, walking, and this awesome kettlebell workout (25# kb, 12&15 lb weights.  Upped it to four rounds.  KB stepups are easier this week, single dumbbell split snatches are not) 
 
Watching (from the treadmill): Call the Midwife
Watching (from the couch): Brooklyn 99, Outlander.  Caught up on This is Us so that I won't have to dodge spoilers at the Thanksgiving table.  Dying to get back to Glitch but there are little people in the house this weekend.
 
Reading: almost done with The Kind Worth Killing, ISO the next read.
