Weekly Eats - Monday Nov 20 - Sunday Nov 26

A weekly round up: eats, workouts, watches, and reads: Thanksgiving Edition

Weekday Breakfasts:
Avocado Toast

Weekend Breakfasts (for the holiday week, "weekend" is Thurs - Sun):
Omelet with mozzarella, mushrooms, green pepper, onion, and sausage
Toast

Weekday Lunches:
Alternated Vegetable Enchiladas and  Spinach Artichoke Pasta from the freezer

Weekend Lunches:
Ad hoc nachos with whatever was in the fridge
Leftover pizza

Weekday Dinners:
Monday (family meal): Lasagna from last Sunday.  We try to avoid eating the same thing two nights in a row but we both had the craving, so it was on.
Tuesday (fend for yourself night): more lasagna for him, leftover pizza for me, hot dogs and noodles for the kids.
Wednesday (date night): went out for fancy hamburgers (our pre-Thanksgiving Tradition)
Thursday: Thanksgiving!
Friday: Takeout pizza, movie night with extended family.  Good times but now we have a ton of leftover pizza on our hands.

Weekend Dinners:
Saturday: went out for dinner with extended family, game night to nibble on leftover Thanksgiving Desserts
Sunday (family meal): after four straight nights of dinning out, we kept it simple with quick ravioli.

Thanksgiving Cooking:
S'mores Bars.  By special request, we made these over the summer but I forgot about them.  The kids and I baked these up Wednesday afternoon.
Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rolls with Cinnamon Butter.  I'm not an expert yeast baker by any means, so I was nervous about this one.  I needn't have been, I followed the recipe to the letter and it was awesome.  Started the dough first thing on Thursday and worked on them off and on throughout the day.  Not hard and the house smelled incredible.
Sweet Potato Casserole.  I get tasked with sweet potato casserole every year, and this was probably the best recipe I've tried yet (IMO and judging by the amount that got eaten at dinner).  Cooked them up about an hour before it was time to leave and popped them back in the oven to reheat at dinner time.

Food Prep: None, taking it easy in honor of the holidays.  We'll wing it for the next two nights.

Other:

Workouts: running and walking.  Skipped weights this week.  On Saturday it was warm enough to run outside for the first time in a long time.

Watching (from the treadmill): Call the Midwife
Watching (from the couch): I finally finished season one of Glitch.  And you guys, season two drops next week!  I went in search of other Australian shows and came up with Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.  Family movie night was The Princess Bride.

Reading: finished The Kind Worth Killing, strongly recommend.  Went in search of the next read.  I wanted something that wasn't a thriller since I've read a ton of those lately and came up with In Farleigh Field.  It's perfect.
