NaBloPo: A Streak Saving Post

Oof Friends, my brain is fried tonight.  In run streaking there's a thing called a streak saver mile where you run just one mile to keep your streak going*  This is a streak saving post.

  • Did the workout thing.
  • Did the work thing.
  • Did the dinner thing.
  • Currently doing the sitting on the couch thing.
  • Procrastinating on the "I didn't get around to cleaning the bathrooms last week so if not now when?" thing.

Alright, Ima get off this couch and get it done.

*PS for the non-runners out there run streaking means that someone runs EVERY day, generally for a minimum of one mile.  It does not mean streaking as in no clothes, though surely there must be a society of streaking run streakers out there somewhere.

For all things NaBloPo head over to The Inbetween in Mine

  2. Laughing at you explaining about not having to be naked to have a running streak. Funny. I really need to clean my bathroom, and I really don't want to. I think I'll read blogs instead.

  3. You covered all the bases in life - and in terms of getting a blog post out the door. Gold star!

I did a running streak once and several times realized once I was in bed I had forgotten to run. I literally ran laps back and forth at the end of my bed in the dark...in my PJs. (I only required myself to go 0.1 km to keep the streak alive, which is a rather pitiful, but meant I could literally accomplish it in bare feet at the end of my bed for those few occasions when life got the better of me and I forgot).
    - I've been doing an outside walking streak this year; 1 km/day (twice I had to do it in a airport, instead of outside). Most days I walk a lot further than 1 km, but it has been so nice to have this daily dose of fresh air. It has DEFINITELY inspired me to get outside on some miserable days on which I know - with certainty - I would have stayed inside with a bowl of popcorn and the TV if I wasn't doing my outdoor walk streak!

    1. I'm lucky that I kind of have a built-in going outside streak thanks to the dog. Most of the time I'm glad to go out with her but there are days when it is just so miserable that it's really tough.

  6. Imagine all the non-runners who think running a mile is a big deal. LOL. They're all confused by the idea that running a mile is just something you toss off.

  7. I always *knew* what streaking meant, but never really associated it when I said that I was workout or run streaking LOL now I'll always think about that ;)

    1. I was thinking of our friend Kim at Running on the Fly! She always makes a very subtle reference to being a streaker in her RW streak posts;-)
